HDFC Bank Cheque Book Request – How to Apply for New Cheque Book

There is a very simple process to make a request for Cheque Book in HDFC Bank. The offline methods to do is using SMS Banking and Internet Banking. In this article, we will learn how to apply for a new cheque book in HDFC Bank without visiting the branch. Not only this, you can track Cheque Book Request Status of the bank online. So, let’s learn how to do that.

Methods to Request a New Cheque Book in HDFC Bank

There are two methods to get a HDFC Bank Cheque Book Request Form. The first one is via SMS Banking and the other is using HDFC Bank Net Banking service. Let’a start with the first basic method.

Dial HDFC Bank Cheque Book Request Number

In this method, you need to dial HDFC Bank Toll Free Number 18000-270-3366. This is HDFC Bank 24 Hours Customer Care Number meant exclusively for Cheque Book Requests. Simply dial the number to apply for new HDFC Bank Cheque Book.

Please Note: You can use this facility only if registered with HDFC Bank SMS Banking service. If not, you will receive a message from HDFC Bank saying:

You are not registered for SMS Banking. To register, send SMS REGISTER<CustomerID><Last 5 Digits of Account Number> to 5676712 or visit nearest ATM/Branch or login to Net banking.

So, first register your mobile number in HDFC Bank account and then dial the HDFC Bank Cheque Book Request Number from your registered mobile number.

Use HDFC Net Banking to Request for New Cheque Book

In this method, first login to HDFC Net Banking by entering User ID and Password. Once you do that follow the steps given below:

Step-1: Go to Request tab available at the left side menu

Step-2: Select “Cheque Book” from the drop down menu

Step-3: Select you Account Number and click on Continue

You contact details will be shown to you including the address where you will receive the Cheque Book by courier.

Step-4: Now select “Accept” button if you are OK with the contact details. Otherwise, select “Decline”

Step-5: Here you will see that your HDFC Bank Cheque Book Request have been made successfully. The reference Number appearing on the top and contact details are to be noted down carefully.

You can also check the expected time of delivery of Cheque Book by clicking the link “Click Here” in that page itself. Normally, bank delivers cheque books within 3 working days from time of request made.

How to Tranck Status of Cheque Book

For this, logon to HDFC Bank Netbanking and Click on “Enquire” Tab present at the left side menu. Now select the “View Cheque Status” link from the drop down menu.

After this, select the Account Number followed by Cheque Number. Finally, hit enter on “View” button to check the Status.
